Job Summary: The Shuttle Captain position will be transporting dogs in our custom doggie shuttle from one club to another as well as from our members’ homes to our clubs.  Support as a daycare attendant will also be provided for our dog clients during their stay at the club including play/interaction, feeding, medications and cleaning up after our dogs to ensure a safe, healthy, and sanitized space. 

Essential functions and responsibilities:  

  • Maintains shuttle/van and equipment in a clean, safe, and operable condition both interior and exterio 
  • Safely operates shuttle/van - Obey all traffic laws to safely transport dogs from one location to another; Follow all state and national safety regulations and standards. 
  • Ensure the safety of the dogs with proper loading/unloading, secure dogs for transport. 
  • Interact and engage with dogs in an appropriate and safe way. 
  • Properly handle our pups and facilitate play when assisting the daycare team. 
  • Safely load, secure and transport dogs using our company van. 
  • Manage schedule with pick-ups and drop-offs to assure pets are transported in a 

timely and responsive fashion. 

  • Maintains regular communication with supervisor to report field problems or safety hazards.   
  • Performs other related Daycare attendant duties as assigned or as necessary. Remains flexible and adaptable in work schedules and work assignments as defined by organizational needs. 
  • Conducting yourself in a manner that is in the best interest of members and PUPS team members. 
  • Representing PUPS in a professional, and positive manner. 

Competencies:  

  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, and customer service skills. 
  • Ability to function well independently and at times stressful environment. 

Education and Experience: 

  • High school diploma or equivalent. 
  • Valid Driver’s License 
  • Acceptable motor vehicle record for at least 3 years 
  • A love for dogs. 
  • Patient and enthusiastic. 

Physical Requirements:  

  • Must be able to safely lift dogs up to 50 lbs. 
  • Stand for long periods of time. 
  • Walk or run for long periods of time. 
  • Kneel, bend, or twist their body.
