Job Summary: The Member Services Representative will assist customers with purchasing services and merchandise in person, on the computer system, and on the phones.   
Essentiafunctions and responsibilities: 

  • Greets and interacts with customers including answering phone system. 
  • Consults with customers to understand their needs and preferences related to services and merchandise. 
  • Demonstrates and explains services and merchandise, selecting and suggesting options suitable for the customers’ needs. 
  • Assists customers with purchase decisions. 
  • Schedules reservations for grooming, training, daycare appointments. 
  • Collects payment using the store point of sale system. 
  • Performs Daycare attendant duties as assigned or as necessary.  
  • Maintains regular communication with supervisor to report problems or safety hazards.   
  • Represents PUPS in a professional and positive manner. 


  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.  
  • Excellent interpersonal, listening, and customer service skills. 
  • Extensive knowledge of the services/merchandise sold. 
  • Ability to recommend services/merchandise to customers. 
  • Ability to operate or to quickly learn the club’s point-of-sale system. 
  • Ability to function well in a high-paced and at times stressful environment. 

Education and Experience: 

  • High school diploma or GED. 
  • 1 to 3 years of retail, or customer service experience preferred. 
  • Basic computer skills including a point-of-sale (POS) system preferred. 
  • Effective communication skills. 
  • A love for dogs. 

Physical Requirements:  

  • Stand or walk for long periods of time. 
  • Able to safely lift dogs of up to 50 lbs.
